About TransEnterix

TransEnterix partners with leading medical thought-leaders to rapidly develop pioneering technologies that advance minimally invasive surgery.

The company’s unique business model involves rapid prototyping, intense pre-clinical labs and hands-on collaboration with surgeons to accelerate learning and bring new technologies to market more quickly.

TransEnterix also seeks to build strong partnerships with hospitals and surgeons to effectively introduce innovations to patients.

In March 2010, TransEnterix successfully introduced its proprietary SPIDER® Surgical System, a platform that creates an entirely new class of surgery called Flexible Laparoscopy. Flexible Laparoscopy uses flexible and tiny instruments to give surgeons greater control of instruments and improved dexterity, while reducing the number of incisions (often to one) required for traditional laparoscopy.

Since its start in 2006, TransEnterix has secured more than $75 million in venture capital funding.
