• 2008 TransEnterix secures $21 million in first round of institutional financing.

  TransEnterix names experienced medical device executive Todd M. Pope as President/CEO.

• 2009 Surgeons from the United States and Paraguay successfully perform first-in-man studies of the SPIDER® Surgical System.

  TransEnterix unveils SPIDER Surgical System at the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons’ annual meeting. System is named Innovation of the Year by the society.

  SPIDER Surgical System receives FDA approval.

  TransEnterix secures $55 million in a second round of institutional financing, paving the way for the company to manufacture and market its revolutionary laparoscopic surgical platform.

  TransEnterix named the Most Innovative Technology Company in North Carolina by the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA).

  TransEnterix awarded the SE Deal of the Year: Venture Capital Transaction from Southeast BIO.

• 2010 Surgeons at hospitals across the United States begin treating patients with the TransEnterix’s SPIDER Surgical System. Platform creates a new class of surgery called Flexible Laparoscopy.

  SPIDER Surgical System receives CE Mark for regulatory approval to market in the European Union.

  Surgeons at hospitals in Europe begin treating patients with the SPIDER Surgical System.
