Learn about the new SPIDER® Surgical System:
Advancing the Promise of Flexible Laparoscopy
The SPIDER Surgical System is designed for less invasive surgery that maintains the principles of gold standard laparoscopic surgery.
Flexible laparoscopy endeavors to provide surgeons with the angles, visualization, and dexterity sought after in many laparoscopic procedures.
SPIDER Core Capabilities:
- Intra–abdominal triangulation achieved via single site access
- True left and true right instrumentation
- Flexible, articulating instruments with 360–degree range of motion
The new SPIDER enhances the experience of surgeons performing less invasive laparoscopy through a combination of product benefits.
Strength. The new SPIDER is designed with endomechanical vertebral arms to provide strength for dissection and retraction.
Precision and control. Newly designed gimbals and vertebral arms allow for fluid motion and control of flexible instruments.
Enhanced ergonomics. A modified surgeon interface requires less external motion to drive instruments.
Optimized reach. The new SPIDER comes in both a standard and long length to help achieve desired operative reach.
The SPIDER’s unique design accommodates a range of small flexible instruments plus a tiny laparoscopic camera, all of which are operated through a slim tube. The system can be inserted through an incision approximately the same size as a dime (18mm.)
